The third oldest city in Brazil, the capital of Paraíba state, is also the second greenest city in the world. João Pessoa has conserved its beautiful natural areas with a mix of beaches, mangrooves, rivers, forest and gardens. In the same way, the rich history of the city is preserved on the many impressive monuments, churches and monasteries. The geography of João Pessoa is marked by the Ponta dos Seixos- "Seixo's Point", the eastern point of the Americas, where the sun rises first.

The North Coast features beautiful beaches and mangrooves, where the rivers meet the ocean, indigenous reserves and historical monuments. In the South Coast, there are kilometers of pristine and deserted warm water beaches adorned by colourful cliff barriers and inumerous palm trees.
