ITINERARY

Day 1 – Rio de Janeiro

Arrival in the Airport of Rio and transfer to your hotel. Rest of day free.

Meals Included: none

Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro

Full day tour of Rio.  Ride to the top of Corcovado Mountain by train. Panoramic view of the city. Tijuca Forest, it's exuberance and beauty. Visit to Taunay Falls in Tijuca Forest. Drive by Barra da Tijuca and southern Rio Beaches.  Lunch at typical Brazilian barbecue place.

Visit to the Metropolitan cathedral and sightseeing of the architectonic monuments of Rio. Pass by the Maracanã Soccer Stadium, returning by the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Go up to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain, viewing the city from the suspended Cable Car.

Meals Included: breakfast at hotel and lunch during the tour.

Optional tour - At night, don't miss the opportunity to see a Samba Show, on the tour Rio by night

Day 3 - Rio de Janeiro

Day free to explore Rio. 

You can relax in one of the famous beaches (Copacabana, Ipanema, etc), do some shopping or join another tour.

Meals Included: breakfast

Optional tours -  Angra dos Reis, Ilha Grande, Petropolis, Tropical Islands (full day tours). 

Day 4 - Rio de Janeiro /  Iguassu Falls

Transfer to airport for flight to Foz do Iguassu. Arrival in the airport and transfer to Hotel. Rest of day free.

Meals Included: breakfast

Optional Tours - Dinner and Latin Dancing Show at a typical brazilian barbecue restaurant.

Day 5 - Iguassu Falls

Tour to the Argentinean side of the falls. Entering the National Park, you will go on a short train ride and walk through the scenic forest, viewing different angles from the Iguaçu upper falls, including the San Martin Falls. You will have a close look at the " Throat´s Devil", with it's amazing amount of water rushing down the fall. On the way back from the falls, tour stops at the Argentinean shopping district, and if weather and time allows, a brief stop at the 3-borders point, where Parana and Iguaçu rivers as well as borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay meet.

Optional Tours -  Optional tours - In the afternoon you can go on the Brazilian side of the falls tour. The Brazilian side of the falls offers a more complete overview of the falls. Great for taking some excellent pictures. It's also possible to combine the Brazilian side with a  Boat ride to the Bottom of the Falls. This tour consists of an adventurous boat ride (in a big R.I.B). It takes you to the base of the falls (be prepared for a wet ride). An adventure not to be missed! 

Day 6 - Iguassu Falls / Bonito

Transfer to the airport of Foz do Iguassu and flight to Bonito Airport. Arrival and transfer to the Hotel. Rest of day free.

Day 7 – Bonito

You will visit the "Gruta do Lago Azul"- The Blue Lake Cave, one of the most beautiful caves in Brazil, with its pristine blue water lake. You will see the many stalactites and stalagmites that have been formed over millions of years. A fascinating tour that lasts about 3 hours, and you can do an optional tour during the remaining time.

Optional Tours - Snorkelling in Rio da Prata (Prata River), Snorkelling in Sucuri River, Walk and Waterfalls of Peixe River, Cave Diving, Horseriding.

Day 8 - Bonito

Boat tour down the Formoso River. It's a Photo Safari and light rafting, allowing you to appreciate and photograph the exotic fauna and flora around the river margins. Duration: half day

Optional Tours - Snorkelling in Rio da Prata (Prata River), Snorkelling in Sucuri River, Walk and Waterfalls of Peixe River, Cave Diving, Horseriding.

Day 9 - Bonito

Day free to explore Bonito.

Meals Included: breakfast

Optional Tours - Another snorkeling tour, or the Waterfall of the Panther’s Mouth, which is a full day tour

If you like hardcore adventure, you can do a tour called Abismo Anhumas (The Anhumas' Abyss), which includes scuba diving or snorkeling in a lake into a cave and a 72 meters rappel to be able to enter the cave - This is considered to be the biggest adventure tour of Brazil. No previous experience is necessary, but the people interested need to practice some rappel techniques the day before the tour (and be approved by the instructors). Limited numbers per day.

Meals included in the program are detailed in the following chart.

Accommodation:

Double rooms can have separate beds or not. A third person depending on the hotel has the possibility of using a sofa bed. Consult for children policy.  

Payment:

Deposit of 30% to guarantee your reservation. The remaining amount must be paid a minimum 30 days before start of the tour. If reservation is made within 30 days of the tour full payment required to make a reservation.   

Cancellation:

Up to 30 days before full refund is given unless the flight tickets have been emitted. In this case there will be a penalty due to the cancellation of the tickets. This depends on the rules of the airline used.  No refund is given when a cancellation is made within 30 days of departure.  

Operation of tour:

Minimum of 1 pax to operate.

Brasil Travel / Melchior & Hodson Ltda and/or agencies involved with the packages, flights and tours shall act only as agents of the tour members in making arrangements for hotels and any other services and do not assume any liability what so ever for any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay to persons or property due to an act of God, default by any hotel, company or person rendering any of services included on the tours or flights. Furthermore, no responsability is accepted for quarentine, government restrains, weather or other causes beyond control. No responsability is accepted for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, re-routing or acts of government authority.
