ITINERARY

Day 1 – Rio de Janeiro

Arrival in the Airport of Rio and transfer to your hotel. Rest of day free.

Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro

Full day tour of Rio.  Ride to the top of Corcovado Mountain by train. Panoramic view of the city. Tijuca Forest, it's exuberance and beauty. Visit to Taunay Falls in Tijuca Forest. Drive by Barra da Tijuca and southern Rio Beaches.  Lunch at typical Brazilian barbecue place.

Visit to the Metropolitan cathedral and sightseeing of the architectonic monuments of Rio. Pass by the Maracanã Soccer Stadium, returning by the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Go up to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain, viewing the city from the suspended Cable Car.

Meals Included: breakfast at hotel and lunch during the tour.

Optional tour - At night, don't miss the opportunity to see a Samba Show, on the tour Rio by night

Day 3 - Rio de Janeiro

Day free to explore Rio. 

You can relax in one of the famous beaches (Copacabana, Ipanema, etc), do some shopping or join another tour.

Optional tours -  Angra dos Reis, Ilha Grande, Petropolis, Tropical Islands (full day tours). 

Day 4 - Rio de Janeiro /  Iguassu Falls

Transfer to airport for flight to Foz do Iguaçu. Rest of day free.

Day 5 - Iguassu Falls

Tour to the Argentinean side of the falls. Entering the National Park, you will go on a short train ride and walk through the scenic forest, viewing different angles from the Iguaçu upper falls, including the San Martin Falls. You will have a close look at the " Throat´s Devil", with it's amazing amount of water rushing down the fall. On the way back from the falls, tour stops at the Argentinean shopping district, and if weather and time allows, a brief stop at the 3-borders point, where Parana and Iguaçu rivers as well as borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay meet.

Optional tour - In the afternoon, Itaipu Dam Tour. At night, Dinner and Latin Dancing Show at a typical brazilian barbecue restaurant.

Day 6 - Iguassu Falls

Tour to the Brazilian side- This tour shows the size and magnificence of the falls. Leaving your Hotel, you will enter the Iguaçu National Park. Drive along the Cataratas Highway through the rainforest of the park to the falls, on the border of Brazil and Argentina where the Iguaçu River drops into a giant horseshoe canyon. Descending a walkway, contemplate the lovely waterfalls in all of nature's exuberance, with panoramic views of both sides - Brazilian and Argentinean. Reaching the elevator, a descent into the Brazilian side lookout. Excellent for pictures of the whole of the falls.

Day 7 - Iguassu Falls/ Salvador

Transfer to airport and fly to Salvador. Transfer to hotel. Rest of day free.

Day 8 - Salvador

Historical city tour of Salvador, visiting among many other attractions, the Pelourinho, pointed by the UNESCO as the most important colonial complex of the XVII and XVIII centuries still existing in the world, and the famous Market Modelo.

Meals Included: breakfast

Optional Tours - Folklore show with typical performances of candomble, maculele and capoeira.

Day 9 – Salvador

Itaparica Island Tour with Lunch (8 hours) - This beautiful excursion will take you through the calm waters of the “Bahia de "Todos os Santos” (Bay of all Saints). After a stop for a swim in the sea at Frade Island, considered to be one of the most beautiful islands of Bahia, we will move on to Itaparica Island.

Day 10 - Salvador

Day free.

Meals Included: breakfast

Optional Tours - Praia do Forte, Historical tour to Cachoeira (full day tours)

Day 11 - Salvador Airport

Transfer to Salvador Airport.

Meals included in the program are detailed in the following chart.

Accommodation:

Double rooms can have separate beds or not. A third person depending on the hotel has the possibility of using a sofa bed. Consult for children policy.  

Payment:

Deposit of 30% to guarantee your reservation. The remaining amount must be paid a minimum 30 days before start of the tour. If reservation is made within 30 days of the tour full payment required to make a reservation.   

Cancellation:

Up to 30 days before full refund is given unless the flight tickets have been emitted. In this case there will be a penalty due to the cancellation of the tickets. This depends on the rules of the airline used.  No refund is given when a cancellation is made within 30 days of departure.  

Operation of tour:

Minimum of 1 pax to operate. 

Responsability:

Brasil Travel / Melchior & Hodson Ltda and/or agencies involved with the packages, flights and tours shall act only as agents of the tour members in making arrangements for hotels and any other services and do not assume any liability what so ever for any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay to persons or property due to an act of God, default by any hotel, company or person rendering any of services included on the tours or flights. Furthermore, no responsability is accepted for quarentine, government restrains, weather or other causes beyond control. No responsability is accepted for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, re-routing or acts of government authority.
