This tour was designed to give you a full experience of Manaus and the Amazon Forest, staying at a Jungle Lodge in the heart of the forest and also exploring the rivers and creeks from a cruise boat.

                                       

AMAZON

The Amazon Forest is considered to be one of the most beautiful and important ecological sanctuaries on the planet. It has the biggest portion of tropical forest in the Planet and it contains one of the biggest diversities of life on Earth. 

 

ITINERARY


Day 1 –       Manaus

 

Airport reception in Manaus and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon free.

Day 2 –       Manaus


Morning tour to the city including the Amazon Theatre. Afternoon free.
Meals: Breakfast

 


Day 3 –       Manaus / Jungle 

 

Morning free. Afternoon boat transfer to the Jungle Lodge. Arrival and check-in. Sunset at the Negro River. 
Meals Included: breakfast and dinner

 


Day 4 –       Jungle

 

(6a.m. - 7a.m.). Good opportunity to watch the sunrise and observe local birds. Breakfast. Jungle Hike. Lunch. Explore Igarapé do Cumaru (Cumaru Creek) and piranha fishing. Also visit to Paricatuba village (Fisherman’s village) and famous ruins of an ancient prision and later school, dated from the beginning of the 20th century. Evening Alligator Spotting & Sounds of the Amazon (boat).

Day 5 –       Jungle

 

Breakfast. Depart to Arara River with its beautiful and exotic creeks .Then on to Anavilhanas Islands. Return to Jungle lodge. Lunch. Afternoon trip to an Indian Community where you will learn about their culture. Indian crafts may be purchased on site.

Day 6 –       Jungle / Amazon Cruise

 

Breakfast. At 09:00 a.m. return to Manaus (by boat). The cruise leaves Manaus at 14:30h. Presentation on board of the staff, route and facilities. Welcome drink. Navigation upstream to the Pagodão river (tributary of the Negro River ). Canoe trip shortly before sunset, returning after dark, with the possibility of observing nocturnal animals and perceiving the change in the forest as night falls.

Day 7 –       Cruise

 

Breakfast. Walk in the forest with commentaries by the guide. Observation of the flora and fauna. Visit to a "Caboclo" family. Chance to see the local way of life. Lunch. Navigation through the Anavilhanas, the world's largest fresh water archipelago, more then 1000 miles from the ocean. Dinner. Night trip to see caimans and possibly frogs, sloths, snakes and other species, depending on the season.

Day 8 –       Cruise 

 

Visit to the village of Novo Airão, with its handcraft boat yards, sawmills, market and other activities. Lunch. Navigation to Praia Grande or another white sand beach.
Swimming if conditions permit, and observation of the vegetation of sandy areas. Canoe trip in lake Acajatuba or adjacent lake domains to see typical flora (rubber trees, Brazil nuts, useful palm trees of various types). Fishing for piranhas. Dinner. Night trip to observe caimans. Navigation.

Day 9 –       Cruise / Manaus 

 

Canoe trip at sunrise for bird watching on Lake Janauary and Eco-reserve, discovering the flood plain forest and lakes with giant water lilies (during the season). Breakfast. Navigation to the "Meeting of the Waters". Return to Manaus, with fine views of the citie waterfront. Arrivals at 11:30h. Transfer to the airport.

Accommodation:

Double rooms can have separate beds or not. A third person depending on the hotel has the possibility of using a sofa bed. Consult for children policy.  

                          

GENERAL CONDITIONS

RESPONSIBILITY: Brasil Travel / Melchior & Hodson Ltda and/or agencies involved with the packages, flights and tours shall act only as agents of the tour members in making arrangements for hotels and any other service and do not assume any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay to persons or property due to an act of God, default by any hotel, company or person rendering any of services included on the tours or flights.

Furthermore, no responsibility is accepted for quarantine, government restraints, weather or other causes beyond their personal control. No responsibility is accepted for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, re-routing or acts of government authority. The payment for the reservation shall constitute consent to all provisions in the "General Conditions" as published herein.

 

PAYMENT POLICY: The total cost for the services requested must be received at least 30 days prior to guest' arrival in order to prepay and guarantee the reservation. Some hotels and resorts have different payment policies that could involve payments due up to six weeks prior to arrival during specific special dates, or will only accept a reservation with an immediate prepayment.

Brasil Travel will accept VISA or Mastercard Credit/Debit Cards or wire transfers.

The prices are subject to change without notice until reservation is paid for.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations are subject to penalties depending on the hotel and season. Note that in many instances, there is a strict cancellation penalty for those reservations cancelled or for "No-shows" especially during holidays and special dates. Cancellation periods range from three (03) days to forty-five (45) days and cancellation penalties range from one (01) nights' stay to the entire length of stay.

 

NOTES: Our prices include only what is stated in the fax or e-mails sent. Other fees, such as energy, maid service, phone calls, laundry, bellman or any other extra expenses are not included.

For transfers, two (02) pieces of luggage plus one (01) carry-on allowed per person. An additional cost may be charged by driver for any extra additional luggage.

  • Brasil Travel is not responsible for fluctuations in currency exchange rates or for economy changes which could affect the prices and conditions of reservations without warning.
