RIO DE JANEIRO

Considered by many as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Rio has a great atmosphere, famous sites and beaches and all to enchant any visitor.

          

IGUASSU FALLS

The falls are an unforgettable spectacle of nature, being one of the largest group of falls in the world. The number of falls vary from 150 to 275, depending on the amount of rain in the area.

                                           

AMAZON

The Amazon Forest is considered to be one of the most beautiful and important ecological sanctuaries on the planet. It has the biggest portion of tropical forest in the Planet and it contains one of the biggest diversities of life on Earth. 

 

SALVADOR

Salvador is a magical place, where the rhythm and the musicality of the Brazilian people shines from its historical roots.

 

 

ITINERARY


Day 1 –       Rio de Janeiro

 

Arrival at Rio de Janeiro Airport where you will be met by one of our local guides and transfer to your hotel. Check-in and rest of day free.

Day 2 -        Rio de Janeiro

 

Full day tour of Rio.  Visiting the Sugar Loaf, drive to "Praia Vermelha" (Red beach), to take the two stage car up to the top of Sugar Loaf (270 meters-high), which grants the entrance to Rio's harbour and Guanabara Bay. The Italian made cable car holds 80 passengers and each of the two stages takes two minutes. The first stage is Morro da Urca with 170 metres, with a restaurant, amphitheatre and heliport. The second stage goes on the Sugar Loaf itself, thus named for its resemblances to the loves of sugar used by the Portuguese at the time of the city's discovery. The views are spectacular. The tour will also visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, samba stadium and view of architectonic monuments of Rio.

Lunch at a typical Churrascaria (As much as you can eat Brazilian BBQ)

After lunch we will make our way to the Corcovado Station where we will ascend Corcovado by train, to visit one of the world’s most famous landmarks-the gigantic statue of Christ the Redeemer. From Corcovado, proceed to Cascatinha, Tijuca Forest to the top of Corcovado mountain. Cidade Maravilhosa, "the marvelous city" as it is known to its residents (or cariocas) and the rest of Brazil, is also arguable the most beautiful city in the world, both in terms of its setting, its people and the distinctive local atmosphere. This is, after all, the city that brought us the girl from Ipanema and all her friends. Rio de Janeiro, the world's largest tropical city, is a mix of a major metropolitan centre, with all the facilities you might expect, with excellent restaurants, sophisticated night life, charming bars, musical extravaganzas, theatre, cinema, museums, art galleries and world-class shopping and resort. As a tropical resort, Rio offers miles of golden beaches, including, Ipanema and Copacabana, two of the most famous stretches of sand in the world, and near perfect weather all year round.

Day 3 –       Rio de Janeiro / Iguassu Falls

 

You will be met at the hotel reception by your guide and transferred to the airport for your flight to Foz do Iguassu. On arrival once again you will be met by your local guide and transferred to your hotel. Check in and Rest of day free.

Meals Included: breakfast

           

Optional tours -In the afternoon (depending on arrival time), Itaipu Dam Tour. At night, Dinner and Latin Dancing Show including dinner at a typical brazilian barbecue restaurant.


Day 4 -        Iguassu Falls

 

Tour to the Argentinean side of the falls. Entering the National Park, you will go on a short train ride and walk through the scenic forest, viewing different angles from the Iguaçu upper falls, including the San Martin Falls. You will have a close look at the " Throat´s Devil", with it's amazing amount of water rushing down the fall. On the way back from the falls, tour stops at the Argentinean shopping district, and if weather and time allows, a brief stop at the 3-borders point, where Parana and Iguaçu rivers as well as borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay meet.

Tour to the Brazilian side of the Falls - This tour shows the size and magnificence of the falls. Leaving your Hotel, you will enter the Iguassu National Park. Drive along the Cataratas Highway through the rainforest of the park to the falls, on the border of Brazil and Argentina where the Iguassu River drops into a giant horseshoe canyon. Descending a walkway, contemplate the lovely waterfalls in all of nature's exuberance, with panoramic views of both sides - Brazilian and Argentinean. Reaching the elevator, a descent into the Brazilian side lookout. Excellent for pictures of the whole of the falls

Optional tours- It's also possible to combine the Brazilian side with a  Boat ride to the Bottom of the Falls. This tour consists of an adventurous boat ride (in a big R.I.B). It takes you to the base of the falls (be prepared for a wet ride). An adventure not to be missed! 


Day 5 –       Iguassu / Jungle Lodge

 

Early morning departure from the hotel in Iguassu and transfer to the airport for your flight to Manaus. ON arrival you will transfer to the Jungle Lodge. Reception with local juice after which guests will be shown to the rooms. Following visit to the Monkey Jungle

Dinner and evening tour by canoe for Alligator Spotting Overnight at the lodge.

Day 6 -        Jungle Lodge

 

Breakfast  followed by Nature-Hike. Lunch. After a short rest, visit to the home of local Amazonian residents” (“caboclos”) with an opportunity for Piranha Fishing. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7 -        Jungle Lodge/ Salvador

 

After breakfast, time free to relax and return to Manaus at 11:30am for your flight to Salvador. On arrival in Salvador transfer to your hotel, Check-in and rest of day free.

Day 8 -      Salvador

 

Historical city tour of Salvador, visiting among many other attractions, the Pelourinho, pointed by the UNESCO as the most important colonial complex of the XVII and XVIII centuries still existing in the world, and the famous Market Modelo.

Folklore show with dinner and typical performances of candomble, maculele and capoeira.

Day 9 -      Salvador Airport

 

Transfer to Salvador Airport.
